Adventure in Homemade Pizza Crust

I did it! I made my very own whole-wheat, homemade pizza. And do you know what? It was TASTY! I got the recipe from one of my favorite Titus 2-type blogs: www.passionatehomemaking.com. Check out the recipe here.

Here are a few photos of the pizza extravaganza:

Baby sleeping, got the monitor, got the ingredients, got the recipe... here goes nothin...

The batch made four crusts. I made 1.5 batches because I found out I was having more friends come for dinner! What a joy!

Mushing the crust onto the cookie sheets. 6 in all.

This one was actually pretty yummy: peppers, mushrooms, ham, pepperoni, and spices. And I don't even like mushrooms.

We had all different kinds. This is going to become a weekly tradition for us, I think. It was delicious and healthy (as pizza goes). The fun part is that you can put literally anything you want on top.

This week has been wonderfully productive. I am feeling energized in my passion for the home, and new adventures like the pizza make it all the more fun! Oh, and by the way, the pizza was a BIG HIT! You should try it!

  1. I will be making this!! Did you soak the dough? Did you pre-bake it before putting on the toppings?

I want to come eat some!

  2. I did not soak the wheat this time, but I will probably give soaking a try next time. I did not pre-bake the crust. If it is thick crust, as some of mine were, I would maybe pop it in the oven for like two minutes and then pull it out to top it. But Ryan said he didn't think they were underdone at all.

Do you have a blog? I can't see it if you do. Anyway I'm happy to fix it whenever-- now that I know how easy it is! :) Thanks for commenting!

  3. Hey! I have a whole wheat crust that we like but this one seems to make more and seems a bit easier, especially with the Bosch to knead it. I'm going to make it on Sunday while the family is in town. I checked out her blog today and loved it. I USED to do the same kind of menu planning as she did for Spring and it saved me so much money. I would have 3 options but from the same category (mexican)for every night of the week and then always have those ingredients on hand. So glad that she reminded me of this - it really did save us money!

    Love this blog!
